University of Tennessee at Martin — Assistant / Associate Professor of Educational Studies in Instructional Leadership

The University of Tennessee at Martin Department of Educational Studies welcomes applications from diverse applicants for a full-time tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor position for graduate teaching and research in the area of Instructional Leadership (18 hrs. of graduate course work in Instructional or Educational Leadership). An earned doctorate is required for tenure track Assistant/Associate/Associate Professor appointments. Candidates who are ABD may apply and if selected will be appointed as an Instructor until completion of their doctorate. Prior administrative leadership experience in an educational institution P-12 is required (Principal, Superintendent/Director of Schools). Experience teaching at the college or university level, and a record of scholarly activities and publications are preferred. Must have completed a minimum of three years successful teaching in the U.S. in K-12. Candidates should be willing to work with diverse populations at the university and in the school districts. Responsibilities for this position includes teaching three graduate courses of either face-to-face or online in Instructional Leadership and additional graduate courses in other education disciplines (ex. Literacy, Special Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Higher Education). In addition, the position may be required to teach undergraduate face-to-face or online courses in various disciplines related to P-12 education if necessary. An undergraduate course load is four courses per semester. Additional responsibilities include academic advising, mentoring student research, supervision and observation of practicums or fieldwork, community outreach, recruitment, service to the department, university, and annual scholarship and professional service.
