Syracuse University — Assistant Professor of Violin

The Setnor School of Music in the College of Visual and Performing Arts invites applicants for a full-time Assistant Professor of Violin, tenure-track, beginning fall 2020. The successful candidate will be an accomplished artist who is dedicated to teaching applied violin at the undergraduate and graduate levels and coaching chamber ensembles. Other responsibilities include recruitment of violin students in the majors of performance, music education, music industry, and sound recording technology, coordination of the string area, work with the University orchestral program, and active participation in the life of the School of Music. Qualifications include a minimum Master’s Degree with a demonstrated record of successful teaching at the collegiate level, significant performance experience as a violinist, organizational and leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with colleagues.
