Virginia Tech School of Performing Arts — Assistant Professor, Musicology

VIRGINIA TECH – Assistant Professor, Musicology. Tenure-track, full time, 9 months. Start Date: August 10, 2020. Duties: Teach blended Music History/Theory curriculum for sophomore music majors in addition to upper-division music history seminars for undergraduate students (2/2 load); maintain an active program of research and present at national conferences; serve on committees and perform other appropriate university service.

Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Musicology or Music History by August 2020; university teaching experience; demonstrated record or potential for national reputation as a scholar.

Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in pedagogy of music theory; demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion in the classroom and/or campus community.
