UNT Health Science Center — Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, Health Outcomes Research

ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY–Located in the Fort Worth cultural district, the University of North Texas Health Science Center is one of the fastest-growing academic health science centers in Texas. The University currently enrolls 2,700 graduate students who are pursuing degrees in public health, medicine, bio-medical science, pharmacy, physical therapy, and physician assistant studies. The University is well-positioned for rapid expansion, matching the growing population and economic vitality of the DFW Metroplex. At this time, the University of North Texas Health Science Center and Texas Christian University (TCU) are planning to launch a new allopathic (MD) medical school. This effort will establish the University of North Texas Health Science Center as one of the few campuses in the U.S. to support both an allopathic and an osteopathic college of medicine.

The Department of Health Behavior and Health Systems in the School of Public Health at the University of North Texas in Fort Worth is seeking an outstanding faculty colleague at the tenure-track Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank, Health Outcomes Research.

Successful candidates will have a PhD in health outcomes, health services research, healthcare policy or similar discipline and a clearly defined area of research expertise demonstrated by ongoing extramural funding and a highly regarded record of peer-reviewed publications commensurate with rank. Candidates with expertise and experience in one or more of the following areas- healthcare operations management, healthcare data analytics, health informatics, and population health -are highly encouraged to apply.

Duties include participating in research, teaching and mentoring of students, and service to the department. This is a full-time, 12-month position.

The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in health services research, public health, and closely related field
  • Recognition or promise of outstanding contributions as a scholar and expert in research
  • Successful record or promise of sponsored research and ability to foster a collaborative program of research
  • Enthusiasm for teaching
  • Commitment to inter-professional education and interdisciplinary research
