University of Alabama at Birmingham — Assistant Professor, Public Law

The Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Public Law, starting August 2020. We seek candidates with teaching and research expertise in any area relating to the study of law and legal institutions. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Political Science or related field (or completed Ph.D. in-hand by August 2020), a promising research agenda, a commitment to quality instruction, and a capacity to work collaboratively to achieve the department’s vision and strategic goals.

The Department offers a B.A. in Political Science as well as a NASPAA-accredited Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree, and plays a key role in servicing and developing programs in International Studies, Pre-Law, Women’s and Gender Studies, and Human Rights. Currently the department has approximately 95 Political Science and 70 International Studies undergraduate majors, 80 Public Administration graduate students, and 11 full-time faculty members, with anticipated growth in the next few years.
