A Trio of African American Women Faculty Taking on New Roles

Tiffany A. Butler, a teaching professor of biomedical engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts, was appointed director of the university’s Office of Multicultural Affairs.

Dr. Butler is a graduate of Eastern University in St. David’s, Pennsylvania. She holds a master’s degree in athletic training and a Ph.D. in integrative exercise physiology from Temple University in Philadelphia.

Amanda Wilkerson is a new assistant professor of higher education and policy studies in the College of Community Innovation and Education at the University of Central Florida.

Dr. Wilkerson holds a doctorate in higher education and policy studies from the University of Central Florida.

La Tanya Rogers was appointed associate professor of English and literature at Fisk University in Nashville. Dr. Rogers previously served as an associate professor of English and assistant dean for academic student affairs in the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of District of Columbia.

Dr. Rogers holds a Ph.D. in African-American literature from Howard University in Washington, D.C.
