The Department of Nursing at California State University, San Bernardino seeks an experienced, doctorally prepared educator and scholar, qualified to teach in upper division pre-licensure BSN, RN to BSN courses, and in MSN and DNP courses to join the tenured/tenure track faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2020. Commitment to serve the health care needs of underserved diverse populations is an expectation. Candidates are required to have a terminal doctoral degree in nursing such as a DNP, PhD or DNSc; those with an EdD will be considered.

California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) is located in San Bernardino in the Inland Empire, 60 miles east of Los Angeles and operates a satellite campus in Palm Desert located in Coachella Valley. CSUSB serves approximately 20,000 students, of which 81% are first-generation college students, and graduates about 5,000 students annually. As a designated Hispanic Serving Institution, CSUSB reflects the dynamic diversity of the region and has one of the most diverse student populations of any university in the Inland Empire, and the second highest Hispanic enrollment of all public universities in California. Typical Activities
The successful candidate will be expected to fulfill the responsibilities of a full-time academic role in undergraduate and/or graduate nursing including teaching theory in various modes (i.e.: online teaching, hybrid), clinical nursing courses informed by evidenced based practice and leading a group of faculty on both campuses. Responsibilities include participation in department and university committees, scholarship, advising and other contributions to student success, program evaluation and accreditation reporting, and community and professional service.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates are required to have an earned doctorate in nursing or related field from a regionally accredited institution by time of appointment. Master's degree in nursing required if doctorate is not in nursing. Candidates must be eligible for California RN licensure and approval with Instructor-status by the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) at the time of appointment in two or more of the following nursing specialties including Psych/Mental Health, Medical-Surgical, or Community Health/Public Health Nursing with a Public Health Nursing (PHN) certificate from the California BRN. The candidate will demonstrate ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse campus community and the ability to contribute to a positive work environment with colleagues, staff, students and others.
Preferred Qualifications: PhD in Nursing. Graduate preparation and certification in the specialty of Psychiatric/Mental Health/Behavioral Health Nursing. Experience in assessment, evaluation and regulatory documentation. Professional/academic service in program and/or committee leadership. Experience in teaching students from diverse populations, socioeconomic, cultural and academic backgrounds.
