University of Pennsylvania — Cardiothoracic Surgeon Educator

The Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track.  Expertise is required in the specific area of cardiothoracic surgery.

Teaching responsibilities may include instruction of medical students and surgical residents.

Clinical responsibilities may include supporting the multidisciplinary valve program and TAVR and in- and out-patient care of patients with thoracic aortic disease and valvular and coronary artery disease as well as all other aspects of adult cardiac surgery.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include participation in clinical research on topics in the field of adult cardiac surgery.

Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree.  They must also be certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery or eligible for such certification.

The successful candidate will be a member of Penn’s Division of Cardiovascular Surgery and will practice primarily at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, flagship institution of the University of Pennsylvania Health System.  He or she will partner with a highly accomplished group of consultative and interventional cardiologists.
