The College of Fine Arts and Communication invites applications for a non-tenure track, 10-month lecturer position in journalism/new media in the Department of Mass Communication beginning January 2020.  

Earned M.A. or M.S. in journalism, mass communication or related field and demonstrated success or potential as a classroom teacher. Professional journalism experience preferred.  

Teach four 3-credit courses per semester in the undergraduate track in journalism and new media among the following: Journalism and New Media I and II; News Editing; News Reporting; Digital Journalism; Mass Media and Society; or Media Criticism. Develop new courses, such as Reporting Race, Gender and Diversity in America; Minorities in the Media; Visual Journalism; and Podcasting.

The Department:
The department ( offers a major in mass communication with tracks in journalism and new media, advertising, and strategic public relations and integrated communication. A master’s degree in communication management is offered.
