Georgia College & State University — Chief Information Officer

The Position
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is responsible for providing leadership, integrative management, and direction for the University’s information technology (IT) department, to include institution-wide IT strategic planning, budgeting for information technologies, and coordination and integration of all University IT matters. The CIO reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. 

The CIO: 

  • Recommends IT policy at the highest level.
  • Serves as the University’s senior leader on issues related to all systems including, but not limited to, administrative, student and faculty support, learning management, academic information systems, and IT systems that support the institution.
  • Serves as a member of the Provost’s Academic Leadership Team and the President’s Council; he/she will work closely with the Vice President for Finance and Administration.
