The Department of Humanities and Communication seeks a tenure-track assistant professor with a Ph.D. in communication, or related field. Applicants who are ABD with dissertations near completion and graduation before August 2020 will also be considered. The successful candidate will be a Communication Generalist. Teaching duties, to begin in August 2020, include a combination of courses in the Communication Major and General Education courses, including the Basic Speech Communication course. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience teaching digital production and/or general education writing courses. Candidates must have demonstrated excellence in teaching, a commitment to teaching general education, and an active research agenda. Additionally, we seek candidates with outstanding interpersonal skills who will contribute to the department’s collegial atmosphere. The first-year course load will be 3/3; thereafter, it will be 4/4. As the search progresses, a teaching portfolio and other materials may be requested from applicants.
