Liselle Joseph’s Milestone Achievement at Virginia Tech

Liselle Joseph was awarded a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg. She is the first woman from an Eastern Caribbean nation to earn a Ph.D. in the field. Dr. Joseph also earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Virginia Tech.

Dr. Joseph is a native of Grenada. While pursuing her education she participated in internships or research projects with NASA, General Electric, Cummins, the U.S. Navy, and the National Science Foundation.

Dr. Joseph now works for Pratt & Whitney and continues to conduct postdoctoral research at Virginia Tech. She was selected to give the graduate student address at the university’s commencement exercises.
