Brookdale Community College — Instructor, Nursing

The College invites applications for a full time, tenure track Instructor, Nursing, to begin September 2019. Successful candidate must be able to facilitate student learning and help students in applying nursing theories and principles to the practice of nursing. The incumbent will conduct classes and/or supervise clinical experiences and simulations as assigned. The successful candidate will have a commitment to working with a diverse student population, collaborative learning, use new technologies in the classroom, and be able to assume a role in online education. This position requires experience in the development, integration, and evaluation of simulation-based activities. Excellent communication skills are also required, as is an openness to new pedagogies and a willingness to participate in departmental curriculum collaboration and outcome assessment.

  • Master’s Degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited institution, and current NJ RN license.
  • Evidence of well-developed written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Commitment to supporting an inclusive environment on campus.
  • Evidence of respect for and an understanding of people with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs.
  • Commitment to continued professional growth and departmental service.
  • Evidence of understanding about and commitment to the philosophy of a comprehensive community college.
  • Experience in using technology in the classroom and in collaborative learning.
  • Evidence of experience using simulation software.

Annual Salary: High $50’s

This position may be staffed at the Assistant Professor level.
