Oakland University — Visiting Assistant Professor of Journalism

The Department of Communication and Journalism at Oakland University invites applications for a non-tenure track Visiting Assistant Professor position. This is a one year contract appointment beginning August 15, 2019.  Successful candidates will teach undergraduate courses in the areas of public relations and strategic communication, journalism and maintain an active research agenda, and provide leadership and service within the department, college, and university.

Teaching responsibilities would include teaching quantitative methods and basic courses in public relations and journalism and the teaching load is three courses per semester. The ideal candidate will strengthen our existing curriculum, and will be expected to maintain exposure to current trends and facilitate their application to the curriculum. Candidates must demonstrate experience with or a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Required qualifications include: a graduate degree in humanities.
