Title: Coordinator of Greek Life and Leadership

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for student development and engagement through programs and services focused on Greek Life, leadership and service.


Greek Life (40%)

  • Provide advising and support for officers in sorority and fraternity governing councils and individual chapters.
  • Serve as primary advisor to local Panhellenic and IFC chapters.
  • Provide support to local NPHC chapter.
  • Administer applicable campus policies and procedures.
  • Develop engaging trainings and programmatic events that enhance Greek Life experience.
  • Communicate with chapter offices and advisors.
  • Collaborate with Councils to ensure sustainability of sororities and fraternities through intentional recruitment practices, new member education, cultural competence, scholarship, fiscal management, risk management and service.
  • Administer chapter membership support services including, but not limited to, use of recruitment software, membership roster management, and grade checks.
  • Build and maintain relationships with campus constituencies.

Service and Civic Engagement Programs (35%)

  • Coordinate university sponsored service programs – Constitution Day, National Day of Service, Canes Angel Tree, Canes Services Day, monthly service programs and service week.
  • Develop and oversee service tracking program.
  • Collaborate with campus constituents on advancing service learning and civic engagement.
  • Facilitate service learning trips throughout the year and during spring break.
  • Plan and implement civic engagement programs.
  • Primary resource to recognized student organization on advancing service activities.
  • Advise service organization(s).

Canes Camp (10%)

  • Oversee administrative operation of an extended orientation camp for first time freshmen.
  • Promote camp to attendees and volunteers.
  • Advise student leadership team and volunteers facilitating camp experience.
  • Collaborate with campus constituent groups to assist with camp coordination.
  • Manage camp budget.
  • Administer applicable campus policies and procedures.

Student Government (10%)

  • Serve as primary advisor to Student Government Association.
  • Attend weekly SGA officer and senate meetings.
  • Assist with budget management, constitution interpretation, and other administrative needs.
  • Provide advising support for SGA sponsored programs.

Performs a variety of related duties. (5%)

  • May serve as investigator for student conduct or Title IX cases.
  • Participates on University and division committees and task forces.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of student development and organization advising.
  • Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
  • Knowledge of issues and trends related higher education and student affairs.
  • Skill in decision making and problem solving.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in multi-task and working cooperatively with others.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, with one or more years of work related experience.
  • Master’s degree, preferred.
