University of Tennessee at Martin — Assistant Professor of Educational Studies in Leadership and/or Curriculum and Instruction (Elementary, Middle, or Secondary)

The University of Tennessee at Martin Department of Educational Studies welcomes applications from diverse applicants for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor position for graduate and undergraduate teaching in areas of Leadership and/or Curriculum and Instruction, (18 hrs. of graduate course work in Leadership, and/or Elementary, Middle or Secondary Education). Earned doctorate or ABD required for tenure track Assistant Professor appointment. Knowledge and expertise in edTPA and COMP preferred. Prior administrative leadership experience in an educational institution P-16 preferred. Experience supervising teacher candidates in the field (Student Teaching) and teaching at the college or university level preferred. Must have completed a minimum of three years successful teaching in the U.S. in K-12. Candidates should be willing to work with diverse populations at the university and in the school districts. Responsibilities for this position includes teaching a 12-hour semester load of face-to-face or online courses in Leadership and/or Elementary, Middle, or Secondary Education, and graduate courses in other education disciplines. Additional responsibilities may include academic advising, mentoring student research, supervision and observation of practicums or field work, community outreach, service to the department and university and annual scholarship and professional service.
