Transylvania University — Visiting Assistant Professor of English

Transylvania University (www.transy.edu), a top-tier, independent, residential liberal arts college of approximately 1,000 students in Lexington, Kentucky, invites applications for a full-time, one-year, non-tenure-track visiting Assistant Professor of English, beginning September 1, 2019. Job Description:
A Ph.D. or nearly completed Ph.D. in English, with an emphasis in African American literature is required along with some college level teaching experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for offering introductory, intermediary, and upper-level courses in the English Program and the General Education Program, as well as two courses in the First-Year Seminar Program. The teaching load consists of three courses per semester, plus one short-term course in May that offers additional opportunities for innovative, team-taught courses.
