University of Dayton — EdD Program Director, Educational Administration

The Department of Educational Administration is searching for a Director to develop and lead a new Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Leadership for Organizations program, which will enroll its first student cohort in Fall, 2019. This twelve-month, non-tenure-track position. with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2019. The candidate is expected to have a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in higher education, P-12 administration, organizational leadership or a related field. The University of Dayton (UD) has partnered with 2U, a nationally prominent online education provider, to power and support our online programs. This partnership provides the department with a powerful online infrastructure that creates a seamless student experience and significantly extends the scope and reach of departmental programs. The successful candidate will be expected to direct the Ed.D. program, develop new courses, teach, mentor graduate students, supervise student scholarship, and provide leadership and service.

The department and university offer a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary environment. The successful candidate will: 1) serve as program director; 2) develop and coordinate the Ed.D. program; 3) develop and teach Ed.D. program courses; 4) actively serve the university, community, and on state and national professional levels; and 5) engage with faculty and students in a manner that highlights professionalism and collegiality.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctorate from an accredited institution in higher education, P-12 administration, organizational leadership, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrable record of a minimum of 3 years of graduate-level university teaching experience in the U.S..
  • Demonstrable record of program leadership or other academic leadership experience. 
  • Experience developing and delivering online, distance, and hybrid courses.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
