The University of Chicago — Assistant Professor, History of Labor and Political Economy in the Postwar US

The Department of History at the University of Chicago invites applications for a tenure-track early assistant professorship in the social and political history of welfare, the service economy and industrial decline in the postwar United States, to begin in Autumn 2019. The department especially encourages applications from historians who consider the intersection of class, race and gender, and/or the political economy of inequality. Candidates are expected to have Ph.D. in hand by July 2019. Consideration of applications will begin on April 1, 2019; early submission is encouraged.
