University of Pennsylvania — Assistant & Associate Professor (Academic Clinician), Inpatient Palliative Care Faculty Physician

The Department of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine seeks candidates for a palliative care position in the non-tenure academic-clinician track.  Rank will be commensurate with experience.  Applicants must have a M.D. degree and demonstrated excellence in education and clinical care.  Board certification or eligibility in Hospice and Palliative Medicine is required.  Fellowship training in Hospice and Palliative Medicine is strongly preferred.

The successful candidate will provide inpatient palliative medicine consultations as part of interdisciplinary teams at affiliated Penn hospitals, under the direction of Dr. Nina O’Connor.  The palliative medicine provider group also supports Penn Medicine Hospice, providing direct patient care and physician oversight for Penn’s inpatient hospice unit.  Faculty physicians are extensively involved in teaching and curriculum design for medical students, residents, and fellows.  The University of Pennsylvania has a highly-competitive hospice and palliative medicine fellowship as well as innovative palliative care education initiatives for non-palliative care clinicians.

We seek candidates who embrace and reflect diversity in the broadest sense.

The University of Pennsylvania is an EOE. Minorities/Women/Individuals with disabilities/Protected Veterans are encouraged to apply.
