The First Cohort of E.E. Just Postgraduate Fellowships in the Life Sciences

The United Negro College Fund announced the first cohort of the E.E. Just Postgraduate Fellowship in the Life Sciences. The fellowships are aimed at accelerating the career development of African Americans pursuing research careers in academic setting or biopharmaceutical companies. The two fellows will receive a large stipend, a research budget, travel funds, and access to mentors and professional networks. Fellowships are supported by funding from Bristol-Myers Squibb Inc.

Bianca Marlin is a postdoctoral researcher in neuroscience at Columbia University. She is a graduate of St. John’s University in Queens, New York, where she majored in biology and adolescent education. Dr. Marlin earned a Ph.D in neuroscience from the School of Medicine at New York University.

Elizabeth Ransey is postdoctoral researcher in the Laboratory of Psychiatric Neuroengineering at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. Ransey holds a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. She earned a Ph.D. in chemical biology from Harvard University.
