University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service (Little Rock) — Extension Specialist, Horticulture IPM (Faculty)

The Extension Specialist- Horticulture IPM is a non-tenure track faculty member of the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service who provides educational leadership in an area of assigned program responsibility. The Professor collects, evaluates, interprets, & develops subject matter information for dissemination through the Extension delivery system. The position provides support to field faculty & serves as a recognized reference source for the organization in the area of expertise.

Duties: Development of science-based IPM programs in horticultural and specialty crop production. Training of county agents, growers, industry and other stakeholders in IPM principles and effective, economic pest management methods. Targeted problem-solving research and recommendations in horticulture crops and publication of results. Collaboration with diverse IPM faculty and industry. Hands-on problem solving and diagnostics for horticulture and specialty crop stakeholders and county extension programs. Updated, research-based and supported educational materials, demonstrations, and modern informational tools.

Required: An earned Doctorate in horticulture, plant pathology, entomology, agriculture, natural resources, or other related field of study is required.
