University of Pennsylvania — Assistant Professor (Academic Clinician), CHOP Emergency Department

The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic-clinician track. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry with a focus on clinical care in the emergency department, teaching of medical students, residents and fellows, and quality improvement. Responsibilities include providing psychiatric emergency/consult liaison clinical care to patients in CHOP’s emergency department; collaborating with multi-disciplinary treatment team members on case conceptualization and treatment planning; teaching child and adolescent psychiatric emergency care to trainees through clinical care experiences; and providing didactic and small group teaching to medical students and residents. Responsibilities also include applying skills as an Epic certified physician builder to improve provider proficiency and patient care and engaging in quality improvement projects and curriculum building with Penn/CHOP psychiatry residents. The applicant will also be expected to actively explore telemedicine, and participate in administrative and clinical hospital and department committees. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and clinical care. Pennsylvania license and board certification in child and adolescent psychiatry are required.
