Craig Watters to Lead Oklahoma State University’s Riata Institute for Global Social Entrepreneurship

Craig Watters has been named director of Oklahoma State University’s new Riata Institute for Global Social Entrepreneurship. The new institute will focus on furthering student experiential study, research, and service, while simultaneously offering educational experiences both nationally and abroad. Dr. Watters is a clinical associate professor and the International Entrepreneurship chair. He has been a faculty member at the university since 2011.

“The importance of social entrepreneurship is growing globally,” Professor Watters said. “Our students want more and more to make an impact on the world and the world is for them – Central America, China, Pakistan, South America, Mexico, Africa – everywhere I have been so far.”

Dr. Watters holds a bachelor’s degree in English and economics, a master’s degree in information resource management, and a Ph.D. in social sciences all from Syracuse University in New York.
