JOB SUMMARY
Berry College, a selective comprehensive liberal arts college in Northwest Georgia, has an opening for an entry-level tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology. Duties will include teaching a general genetics course and an upper-level course in their area of expertise to science majors, as well as a course for non-science majors at the undergraduate level. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to Berry’s premier One Health program, as well as collaborate across disciplines. Berry College faculty are expected to conduct and publish original research that incorporates undergraduate student assistance. The successful candidate is expected to supervise undergraduate research and serve as an academic mentor. The Biology department emphasizes active learning and student engagement and desires to improve recruitment of students from under-represented groups. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in genetics or a closely related discipline. Special consideration will be given to those individuals that study viral genetics/genomes or the genetic basis of resistance to viral infections (at the BSL-2 level or lower).
