Wayne State University — Assistant or Associate Professor, Developmental Science

The WSU Department of Psychology invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in Developmental Science. Candidates should have completed their Ph.D. by the time of the appointment (August, 2019). Individuals with specialization in any area of Developmental Science across the lifespan will be considered. We are especially interested in scholars who evaluate the dynamic interplay among biological, psychological, and social factors in promoting positive development in the context of risk or health disparities among underrepresented populations. Candidates with strong quantitative skills that are applicable to longitudinal research designs are preferred. The successful applicant is expected to establish and maintain a productive and extramurally funded research program, teach, and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.

WSU offers tremendous opportunities for collaborative and interdisciplinary research. The Department of Psychology, in particular, has strong ties with the Merrill-Palmer Skillman Institute for Child & Family Development, the Institute for Gerontology, the Researchers of Biobehavioral Health in Urban Settings Today (RoBUST) program, and the Center for Urban Responses to Environmental Stressors (CURES), among others.
