The Associate in Arts Program (AAP) at the University of Delaware seeks to hire a continuing track faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to serve as Faculty Coordinator of the Wilmington Campus. We welcome applicants with disciplinary or interdisciplinary specialization in any of the academic departments housed within the College of Arts & Sciences.

The Faculty Coordinator will provide leadership for the UD-AAP Wilmington Campus, home to more than 400 students; serve as administrator for nine full time and more than thirty part time faculty; and report to the AAP Director. Candidates for this position must possess a doctoral degree and should demonstrate experience and expertise in administration, skill at leading faculty, and proficiency at empowering students from historically underrepresented groups as they work to achieve their fullest potential in higher education. The successful candidate will have an excellent record as an instructor and be expected to teach two classes per semester in their discipline, including introductory courses and possibly higher-level courses where appropriate. The faculty coordinator will also be responsible for hiring adjunct instructors; collaborating with faculty and staff members to schedule courses; leading campus events, including recruitment, orientation, campus welcome and convocation; and liaising with university wide entities, advisement, community partners and city leaders. Administrative responsibilities and compensation will extend into the summer.
The UD AAP offers an associate degree curriculum on campuses in Wilmington, Dover and Georgetown, Delaware. Its faculty teach coursework in humanities, history, the social and behavioral sciences, natural sciences, and languages. AAP students constitute a racially and socioeconomically diverse body of learners, the majority of whom go on to pursue majors in all seven colleges on the University of Delaware’s main campus in Newark. AAP students enjoy an uninterrupted transition from the AAP to a bachelor’s degree program in the junior year. AAP faculty commit a majority of their time and effort to preparing students to succeed in their transition to bachelor’s degree programs or to the workforce. Continuing track faculty have opportunities to pursue research, are eligible for promotion and sabbaticals, and receive full and generous benefits as part of their compensation package.
