The Department of Communication Studies at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) announces a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Digital Filmmaking position that begins September 2019.

Nestled in the foothills of the San Bernardino Mountains, CSUSB is located in San Bernardino in the Inland Empire region of Southern California, 60 miles east of Los Angeles.  CSUSB offers programs through the Colleges of Arts and Letters, Business and Public Administration, Education, Natural Sciences and Social and Behavioral Sciences, and operates a satellite campus in Palm Desert located in Coachella Valley.  CSUSB serves approximately 20,700 students and offers 47 undergraduate and 35 graduate degrees, including one doctoral degree, as well as 13 programs with national accreditation. The Department offers a B.A. in Communication Studies with concentrations in Media Studies, Public Relations, and Human and Organizational Communication; and an M.A. in Communication Studies.

Typical Activities
Teaching digital video production courses and film studies courses.

Minimum Qualifications
M.F.A., or Ph.D., or other terminal degree in filmmaking, video production, or related field by time of appointment.  Record of creative and/or professional work in fiction and/or documentary filmmaking or video production.  Ability to teach film studies courses as well as digital video production courses. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of students, faculty and staff.
