The University of Tennessee, Knoxville — Assistant or Associate Professor of Child and Family Studies, Early Childhood Education

The Department of Child and Family Studies (CFS) at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, invites applications for an early childhood education (birth-8), tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in our teacher licensure program. The position will begin in August, 2019.

The department supports an ecological and interdisciplinary perspective on early education and seeks candidates whose ongoing research and teaching will strengthen and complement the ECE program and the CFS department. Successful candidates will be expected to pursue active research agendas, seek external funding, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and advise students.

Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in early childhood curriculum and assessment, teaching diverse learners, teacher education, and/or policy. Direct experience and/or applied work in early care and education settings is highly desirable.

Candidates must have an earned doctorate degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Child Development, or a closely related field. Candidates must be able to demonstrate their ability to perform at the rank being considered.
