University of Nevada Cooperative Extension — Coordinator, Urban 4-H Youth Development Programs

The University of Nevada, Reno, Cooperative Extension is recruiting for a full-time 4-H Youth Development Programs Coordinator in Las Vegas, NV.

This position oversees, plans, implements, and evaluates urban 4-H Youth Development programs in assigned urban locations. The Urban Coordinator serves Clark County. The Urban Coordinator position regularly collaborates with the Rural Coordinator to advance 4-H programming statewide.

The position provides direct management of the 4-H Club program; STEAM program; in-school and after school programs, Juntos 4-H program (a Hispanic focused program); 4-H Adjudicated Youth program, as well as agriculture based classroom programs (animal science, animal raising and running animal clubs in an urban setting) as well as day-to-day operations of all 4-H programs (clubs, leader training, managing volunteers, camps, school events, etc.). The position recruits, screens, trains, and supervises 4-H program volunteers and student interns. The position develops educational programming for urban youth utilizing current curricula/best practices and facilitates interagency cooperation to further youth development programs that are inclusive and available to all youth who wish to participate. In addition, the Urban Coordinator directly coordinates the residential 4-H Camps in Clark County (9-12 year olds and teens) to include an annual self-supporting budget, supervising camp staff/volunteers, coordinating annual contract for camp use, and overall logistics for the camping experience.
