University of Maryland, Baltimore — Clinical Instructor, Assistant and Associate Faculty, School of Social Work

The School of Social Work at the University of Maryland seeks nominations and applications for two non-tenure track, full time (10-month) faculty positions at the Clinical Instructor, Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor rank. The University of Maryland School of Social Work (UMSSW) MSW program is consistently ranked in the top 20 schools of social work in the country. The UMSSW, through teaching, service, and research, is committed to the well-being of populations and communities at risk and to a racially and culturally diverse faculty and student body. The School is part of a dynamic graduate and professional campus that provides an intellectually exciting, collegial, and supportive environment that fosters interdisciplinary, community-based research, and collaborative practice.

We are seeking applicants with social work practice experience and the ability to teach in either the clinical, policy, or macro practice curricular areas. The School is particularlly interested in applicants who have demonstrated expertise in teaching and mentoring students to work with diverse populations and communities. Experience in teaching MSW classes is required. In addition to other duties, these non-tenured faculty positions are responsible for teaching up to 7 graduate courses per year and carrying a field liaison load of 5-6 students, with accompanying committee service. UMSSW has a need for faculty to teach at the School’s main campus in Baltimore and the satellite program in Rockville, MD.

Applicants must possess an MSW degree from a CSWE accredited school of social work. An earned doctorate in social work or a related discipline is preferred. A minimum of four years post-MSW practice experience is required. Masters level applicants are eligible to apply for a Clinical Instructor Faculty position and doctoral level applicants may apply for a Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor position.
