Morgan State University in Baltimore Adds a Married Couple to Its STEM Faculty

Willie S. Rockward has been appointed professor of physics and chair of the department of physics and engineering physics at the Morgan State University School of Computer, Mathematical and Natural Sciences. Formerly, he was a professor and chair of the department of physics and the dual degree engineering program at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dr. Rockward received a bachelor’s degree in physics from Gambling State University in Louisiana, a master’s degree in physics from the State University of New York, and a master’s degree and doctorate in physics from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.

His wife, Michelle L. Rockward has been appointed assistant to the chair and lecturer in the department of mathematics at Morgan State University. She was an assistant chair and assistant professor in the mathematics, computer science, and engineering department at Georgia State University’s Perimeter College.

Rockward earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematics from South Carolina State University and her master’s degree in applied mathematics from Clark Atlanta University.
