Howard University Appoints Three African Americans to Key Administrative Positions

El Hadji Djibril Diagne has been named associate director of the Office of Development and Alumni Relations at Howard University. He formerly served as assistant director and has worked in alumni relations at Howard for 12 years. Diagne holds a bachelor’s degree in political science degree from Howard University and a master’s degree in conflict analysis and resolution from George Mason University.

Sharon Strange Lewis has been named director of alumni relations at Howard University. She was the director of women and diversity programs and other alumni programs at the University of Maryland. Strange-Lewis earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Howard University and her MBA from the University of Maryland.

Jonathan Piersol has been named chief information officer at the university. He was vice president and chief information officer at The Thurston Group. Piersol holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and computer information systems from Strayer College in Herndon, Virginia, a master’s degree in information systems from George Washington University, and an MBA in general management from Georgetown University.

  1. I have a BIG problem with people who use the fact that they are from an african country and can not only name that country but the tribe that they claim calling themselves african americans. Like their ancestors suffered as slaves on this land and are THAT lineage. LIES. the descendants of usa slavery are gaining NOTHING by you TAKING what is ours, or else you would be as clear as to who you are here inwith america as you are clear as to who you are when you are in your african nation. Obviously foe not friend. If truly diversity is what is sought then why claim to be who you are not. Because you know you are truly only stealing from another group what was meant for that group.
