Two Black Male Scholars Appointed to Positions as Dean at State Universities

Peter Aghimien is the new dean of the Jesse H. Jones School of Business at Texas Southern University in Houston. He was a professor and chair of the accounting program at Indiana University-South Bend and is a former member of the faculty at Grambling State University in Louisiana.

Dr. Aghimien is a graduate of Ohio State University, where he majored in accounting and economics. He holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in accounting, economics, and finance from Louisiana Tech University.

Lincoln Gibbs was named interim dean of the College of Health Professions at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan. Since the summer of 2016, Dr. Gibbs has been the associate dean of the College of Health Professions. Earlier, he served on the faculty and was chair of the department of health and sports sciences at Salisbury University in Maryland.

Dr. Gibbs holds a master of public health degree and an educational doctorate.
