Miami University — Assistant Professor in Nutrition and Food Science

Kinesiology & Health: Tenure-track Assistant Professor beginning Fall semester of the 2019-2020 academic year to teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in nutrition and food science; supervise and evaluate master’s level students; establish and maintain a research agenda; engage in scholarly activities; advise undergraduate and graduate students and provide service to the program, department, division, and university and to the profession.

Require: Earned doctorate in human nutrition or related field by time of appointment; experience teaching dietetic-related courses; evidence of high-quality research.

Consideration may be given to candidates who: are Registered Dietitians; Registered Dietitians with a minimum of one year post-credentialing experience; hold current or willing to obtain licensure in Ohio through the Ohio Board of Dietetics; have experience working with diverse populations in the clinical, community and/or food service/food service systems settings; show evidence of the utilization of technology in teaching; or experience with on-line teaching.

This position has the potential to be part of a cluster or cohort hire of faculty in The College of Education, Health and Society for successful diverse candidates whose critical research, teaching and/or service connects to a theme of promoting Socially Just Communities (e.g., participatory community research, mutually beneficial university-community partnerships including community engagement, service learning, and collaborations with clinical/practice courses/training) consistent with our Initiative for Community Justice and Wellbeing.
