Levi Thompson to Be the Next Dean of College of Engineering at the University of Delaware

On October 1, Levi Thompson will become dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Delaware. He will also be appointed the Elizabeth Inez Kelley Professor of Chemical Engineering in the department of chemical and biomolecular engineering.

Dr. Thompson is currently the Richard E. Balzhiser Collegiate Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Michigan. He also serves as the director of the Hydrogen Energy Technology Laboratory at the university. Dr. Thompson joined the faculty at the university in 1988 and was appointed to his current position in 2005. From 2001 to 2005, Professor Thompson was associate dean for undergraduate education in the university’s College of Engineering.

Dr. Thompson is a graduate of the University of Delaware. He holds master’s degrees in chemical engineering and nuclear engineering and a doctorate in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan.
