Haverford College — Assistant Professor in Visual Anthropology

Haverford College invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Visual Anthropology at the rank of Assistant Professor to start Fall 2019. The successful candidate is expected to have completed the PhD by the time of the appointment, and will demonstrate an expertise in both visual anthropology and ethnographic filmmaking practice. The successful candidate is also expected to contribute to the Visual Studies program, and preference will be given to those applicants who engage in collaborative/participatory media. Geographical area is open but priority will be given to applicants whose scholarly interests and teaching engage questions of race. Teaching responsibilities include courses at all levels of the curriculum, and in particular, introductory and/or capstone courses for the Anthropology Department and Visual Studies program, digital cinema production courses, new elective courses, and supervision of undergraduate senior theses.
