University of Tennessee at Martin — Assistant Professor, Curriculum & Instruction

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

The Department of Educational Studies at the University of Tennessee at Martin seeks candidates for a full-time, tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. Duties for this position include teaching a 12-hour semester load of face-to-face or online courses in Secondary Language Arts. Additional responsibilities may include academic advising, mentoring student research, supervision and observation of practicums and field work, community outreach, service to the department, university and annual scholarship, and professional service. Job Description and Professional Qualifications

Full-time, tenure-track, Assistant Professor position for graduate and undergraduate teaching in the area of Curriculum & Instruction. Earned doctorate or ABD required with expertise in/emphasis in Early Childhood, Elementary or Secondary Education (18 hrs. of graduate coursework required). Doctoral defense prior to assuming position required. Must have completed a minimum of three years successful teaching in the U.S. at the K-12 public school level. Candidates should be willing to utilize technology in teaching as well as demonstrate its use in public schools and have a willingness to work with diverse populations in public school contexts.

The following professional qualifications are preferred:

  • 18 hrs. of graduate coursework in science and math (Elementary or Secondary level)
  • Five or more years of experience teaching K-12 in the U.S.
  • Public school experience.
  • A record of scholarly activity and publications
