11-Year-Old Child Prodigy Receives Full Tuition Scholarship to Southern University

Elijah Precciely recently received a J.S. Clark Presidential Scholar Award to study physics and mechanical engineering at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. When he becomes a full-time student in January, Precciely will be the third generation of his family to enroll at Southern University. Most notably, Precciely is 11 years old.

Precciely has been home schooled and has already taken some classes at the university since the age of 8. Due to his previously college credits, he will start at Southern University as a sophomore.

Precciely gave his first sermon at the age of 5 and currently hosts his own gospel radio show on a local FM station. He recently published his first book Mission Christian: God’s Got Firsts! He has submitted applications for five U.S. patents.

At a ceremony announcing his scholarship award, Precciely said “when I reflect on this Joseph S. Clark Presidential Scholars Award it means absolute legacy, nothing but legacy to me. Those that have paved the way, I want to thank you for paving the way in my education, and I will absolutely pave the way for others to do the impossible. I am elated.”
