University of Arkansas System Cooperative Extension Service — Director of Information Technology

Duties: Plans, develops, and implements delivery of information technologies, systems, and services. Works with all constituencies to identify optimal IT infrastructure to support the vision and strategic plans of the institution. Responsible for departmental budget planning and development and budget performance. Pursues outside funding, solicits partnerships, develops requests for bids, and negotiates contracts for information technology resources. Responsible for the production environment and production support, including Production Data Center monitoring, updates, performance and architecture, network services, monitoring of performance, routers and switches, core infrastructure applications (email, ERP, file services, directory services), database administration and development, information security, firewall and endpoint security, Call Center, HIPAA compliance, website and social media, web enabled communications, telecommunications, digital audio visual systems, and disaster recovery. Responsibilities also include support for the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station DNS, network support, Azure Directory Services, Office 365 shared tenant, and Zoom web conferencing support. The future direction of the Division may lead to additional consolidation and increased responsibilities. Responsible for software applications (native mobile and web based applications), application development and development environments, vendor management and technology related training.

Required: Master’s degree in Information Technology or relevant discipline plus 7 years of related professional experience including two years of supervisory experience. Preferred: Experience in the land-grant university system or Cooperative Extension Service is preferred. Experience as administrator of an IT department is preferred. Banner experience is preferred. Hands-on and working knowledge of different types of network technologies applied across a diverse range of research and administrative settings.
