The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Health Professions (SHP) Department of Health Services Administration (HSA) announces the opening of a full-time, open-rank, open-tenure, faculty position.

HSA invites applications from innovative, motivated, and engaged individuals who are committed to participating in our education programs, contributing to our diverse research agenda, and serving the community and health professions in activities related to health care management and leadership.

We are seeking candidates with a primary interest in teaching in educational programs in the department with a focus on upper-level undergraduate courses. The selected candidate will have an enthusiasm and demonstrated ability to teach in a student-centered environment, both on campus and online. The position requires a Master’s degree in health administration, health care, health sciences or related discipline, with a doctoral degree preferred. Previous academic experience – designing and teaching courses, mentoring students, or other relevant work- is also preferred. Salary, academic rank, and tenure status will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Department of Health Services Administration comprises eight academic programs: two doctoral programs (Ph.D.; Executive D.Sc.); Master’s degree programs in Health Administration; Health Informatics, Health Quality and Safety, and Healthcare Simulation; and an AUPHA-certified undergraduate program in Health Care Management.
