Description of Responsibilities: The Arts Programming Coordinator will work closely with the Dean of the School of Communication, Media and the Arts, the Director of Arts Programming and the chairs of Art, Music and Theatre departments on the promotion, organization and management of arts events at the college. 

Occasional evening and weekends required for assisting with performing arts events.

In addition, will be expected to display a commitment to undergraduate and/or graduate education, and possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree by time of appointment
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
  • Basic office skills including experience using various social media platforms
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Proficiency in Adobe Cloud applications and/or InDesign and Photoshop
  • Experience using Quickbooks or other basic accounting software
  • Experience in the arts, event management and/or publicity
  • Experience reviewing artist contracts and/or grant writing

Description of Department: Created in 2007, The School of Communication, Media and the Arts is one of four schools at SUNY Oswego. It houses the departments of Art, Communication Studies, Music and Theatre as well as ARTSwego, the college’s performing arts series.
