The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) seeks a skilled manager and collaborative leader to serve as its next Director of Student Receivables. The Director ensures access and affordability for MIT students and their families and oversees student receivables, including student accounts and education loans, the Student Services Center (SSC), a one-stop service center for students, and all Student Financial Services (SFS) accounting functions.

The Director will support MIT’s mission by building strategic partnerships within MIT to achieve common goals and by fostering a student-centered environment, offering exceptional customer service in the Student Services Center, to bolster the success of MIT students. In addition, this position serves as the functional business process owner and decision maker within the cross-organizational team that is responsible for ongoing maintenance, system enhancements, and major IT projects for student receivables, ensuring the effective use of technology to achieve results.

MIT seeks a Director with the experience and vision to provide strategic leadership in the area of student accounts in support of the Institute’s mission. Managing an office of seventeen staff members including four direct reports and reporting to the Dean of Admissions and Student Financial Services, the Director will act as an ambassador for SFS within MIT, as well as externally. To succeed in this role, the incumbent must possess a demonstrated record of cooperative leadership, an understanding of technology management, knowledge of evolving issues related to student receivables, as well as the ability to nurture an inclusive workplace that enhances communication and collaboration and inspires organizational commitment, pride, and trust.
