Methodist University seeks a dynamic and talented new president to build on the University’s notable success and momentum, foster innovation, hone its strategic priorities, build enrollment, and enhance and leverage university resources.

Founded in 1956, Methodist is a comprehensive liberal arts-based university with a wide range of distinctive and attractive programming, including engineering, PGA golf management, physician assistant (M.M.S. degree), nursing, forensics and athletic training, as well as doctorates in physical therapy and occupational therapy. With over 80 majors, minors and concentrations in five undergraduate schools and six graduate programs (DPT, OTD, MMS, MBA, MED, MJA), Methodist enrolls a highly diverse student body of some 2,250 from over 40 states and more than 77 countries. University students have access to over 100 clubs and student organizations, as well as 20 highly competitive NCAA Division III athletic teams.

The University’s recent capital campaign, “Building Excellence: The Campaign for Methodist University,” easily surpassed its $35M goal and has funded an ambitious expansion of campus facilities. Methodist is located in Fayetteville, North Carolina, a dynamic cosmopolitan center rich in arts and history, which is also home to the 82nd Airborne Division at one of the nation’s largest military installations, Fort Bragg.

Methodist’s next president will find a strong and successful institution which has grown significantly in enrollment, programs, and facilities. The University has generated surpluses every year since 2005, with the funds being reinvested in campus and program enhancement. Guided by a dedicated and engaged board of trustees, Methodist features distinctive and diverse programming, a strong relationship with Fayetteville and Cumberland County, a vibrant sense of community, and a creative and dedicated faculty and staff. Methodist’s next president will have extensive senior executive experience, a knowledge of and appreciation for the academic enterprise, the ability to build a strong leadership team, financial acumen, fundraising experience, and the ability to connect authentically with constituencies across campus and beyond.
