University of Pennsylvania — Research Associate Professor, Division of Genetics

The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Human Genetics in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Associate Professor position in the non-tenure research track. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research.

The successful applicant will have experience in the field of mitochondrial biochemistry, including evaluation of respiration chain dysfunction and electron paramagnetic resonance studies. Responsibilities include designing and conduction experiments that deepen understanding of basic mitochondrial biochemical mechanisms, mitochondrial disease mechanisms, and evaluation of mitochondrial disease studies. In addition, the successful applicant will coordinate NIH-funded, pharma, and philanthropic research grant efforts, teach and supervise post-doctoral fellows, students, and research staff, and participate in writing grants, project reports, and manuscripts. Applicants must have outstanding communication skills, and be a strong team-player with demonstrated collaborations.
