Marion Fedrick to Lead Albany State University in Georgia

The University System of Georgia has named Marion Fedrick as interim president of Albany State University. Art Dunning, president of Albany State previously announced that he will step down at the end of January.

Fedrick has been serving as interim executive vice president at Albany State since October. Earlier, she was vice chancellor for human resources at the University System of Georgia. In that role, she directed all system-wide human resource efforts, employee benefit programs, and organizational development and leadership initiatives.

After her appointment as interim president, Fedrick noted that “students, alumni, faculty, staff and community leaders have eagerly and candidly shared their thoughts, concerns and ideas for ways the institution can grow and innovate. I am appreciative of this feedback, and the willingness I have seen from faculty and staff to be open to change that will benefit our students. This commitment and dedication is what will move Albany State forward to better serve the local community and the Southwest region of our state.”

Fedrick holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Georgia.

  1. Hello Ms Marion Fedrick, hope all is well. This is Georgett Revels & my son Johnny Mccant wants to attend college for football and we did every thing that was asked, but by this being my first child to go to college a lot of things we didn’t know and no one really took the time to explain so we are having problems with the Financial Aid. My son moved in his housing on the 8th of Aug and now have to move back home on the 10th because his classes will drop out today because the school is asking we set up payments for $1800 3payments. Ms Marion, I can’t afford that, I’m willing to pay something cause I understand that the school have to get paid, but times are hard and I pay my daughter bills cause she has Artustis at the age of 21 and miss work and I also have a child still in school. Ms Marion all I’m asking for is help for my son Johnny Mccant to be able to attend Albany State to live his dream to play football. Please help in anyway. Thanks for your time, have a blessed day.
