University of New Mexico — Assistant Professor of Public Administration

The School of Public Administration at the University of New Mexico invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Public Administration appointment with a research and teaching specialization in Public Budgeting and Public Finance, to begin in Fall, 2018. The Salary range is $65,000-75,000 per year. Requisition Number is Req3334.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Public Administration or closely-related social science discipline, e.g. Political Science, Public Affairs, Public Policy, or Economics, at the time of application

Preferred Qualifications:

  • established record of peer-reviewed publication and university teaching as evidenced through the submitted CV or letters of recommendation in one of the following areas: state and local government budgeting and finance, performance budgeting, the politics of budgeting, or tax and revenue administration.
  • A demonstrated ability to teach quantitative methods
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities

The MPA program in the School of Public Administration is one of the oldest NASPAA-accredited programs in the nation.
