ANNOUNCES A FULL-TIME TENURE-TRACK FACULTY POSITION IN
CHORAL MUSIC EDUCATION

RANK/SALARY:  Assistant Professor, tenure-track. Salary commensurate with candidate’s credentials and experience.

DUTIES:  (1) Oversee the undergraduate choral music education program; (2) teach undergraduate and graduate music education courses; (3) supervise student teachers; (4) supervise graduate research, theses, projects, and dissertations at the masters and doctoral levels as assigned; (5) conduct a choral ensemble per the needs of the School of Music; (6) recruit undergraduate and graduate students; (7) conduct music education research and engage in creative activities designed to enhance teaching and learning; (8) perform administrative duties and serve on committees as assigned; (9) work collaboratively with the College of Education on licensure and certification matters; (10) work effectively with faculty and students; (11) build and maintain a productive relationship with other Utah music educators.

QUALIFICATIONS:  (1) Doctorate preferred, ABD considered; (2) outstanding musician with successful choral conducting background; (3) minimum three years successful secondary school teaching required, (4) college/university teaching experience desirable; (5) evidence of the potential to develop a national reputation in music education through scholarly research and creative activities, as defined in our Retention, Tenure, and Promotion guidelines http://music.utah.edu/faculty/resources.php
