Augustana College — Visiting Assistant Professor, Psychology and Neuroscience

Psychology and Neuroscience – Augustana College, Rock Island, Illinois, invites applications for a full-time, Visiting Assistant Professor position in the department of Psychology and Neuroscience beginning in August of the 2018-19 academic year, with possible renewal for the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 academic years. Augustana College is a selective liberal arts college of approximately 2,500 students, most of whom live on a wooded 115-acre campus. Rock Island, Illinois, is part of the Illinois-Iowa Quad Cities along the Mississippi River, a diverse metropolitan area with 400,000 residents, located about three hours west of Chicago and 45 minutes east of Iowa City, home of the University of Iowa.

Area of expertise is open. We are especially interested in candidates who could teach a combination of Introduction to Psychology, Research Methods, and/or Statistics, in addition to an elective within their area of expertise. The candidate would teach 8 classes across three trimesters annually and is expected to contribute to the department by involving students in supervised research, if possible. A Ph.D. in psychology or a closely-related discipline is required; ABD candidates may be considered as well. We encourage applicants with demonstrated success working with diverse populations.
