Position Description:  USC Upstate Theatre Program in the Department of Fine Arts and Communication Studies invites qualified individuals to apply for a nine-month tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Theatre: Acting/Directing beginning August 16, 2018. Faculty positions to teach on the Spartanburg and/or Greenville campus. The ideal candidate will demonstrate active engagement in professional theatre and substantial teaching and directing experience in academic theatre. The ideal candidate will have specialization in voice, movement, and acting technique(s). Candidate may also be expected to teach courses in theatre history, playwriting, and directing. The position will also require academic advisement of theatre majors, active recruiting, direction of at least one main stage production each year, support of production in the Studio Theatre and on the main stage, and general assistance in the growth and advancement of the theatre program.

Required Qualifications: MFA or Ph.D. in Theatre with emphasis in Acting and/or Directing, and directing experience.

Preferred Qualifications: MFA in Acting and/or Directing with directing experience.
